In a dystopian world, you live in a giant silo that extends hundreds of stories underground, alongside 10,000 people; a society bound by regulations they believe are meant to protect them. Through cameras, the inhabitants of the silo are made to believe that the world outside the silo is deadly and poisonous. No records of human history exist and possessing old world artefacts is prohibited. The only historic event that has been recorded is a rebellion within the silo 100 years ago, the aftermath of which nearly caused the extinction of the silo's population. When people are sent out to clean the camera at the silo's surface, they are only able to survive for a few moments before ultimately suffocating and dying from the poisonous air. You have discovered rudimentary proof that the people inhabiting the silo have been fed a carefully constructed lie of the inhabitability of the outside world in order to prevent dissent, and you grow increasingly suspicious of the institutions that govern the silo. You are also being persecuted for having suspicions, which is against the silo’s code of conduct. You are considering leaving the silo to clean the cameras, spurred by the possibility of finding a concrete answer to your questions. Given that you do go out, you vow to send a signal to the silo if you find an inhabitable world outside.
